Andy was born Carlos Andres Gonzales; has lived most of his life in Dallas, TX, for the years 1975-1977, when he lived in
Tehran, Iran. Living on the other side of the world and among the Iranian, French and other cultures, Andy experienced
new and amazing cuisines that encouraged his love affair with food that began with his Grandmothers. When he
returned to the United States, Andy began a long career in and around every part of the Food and Beverage Industry,
including waiting tables and bartending, restaurant management, fine dining staffing, staff training, and creating a
catering company, and consulting on opening a few restaurants and working for the Dallas Cowboys curator of wines for
the suites and Texas Club.
For the past 15 years, as the Wineaux Guy, Andy has dedicated himself to sharing his unique perspective and inspiring
would-be Wineauxs to love this amazing fruit of the vine. “A wine education for the rest of us.” He is in his 11th year as
a judge for the TWGGA, Lone Star International Wine Competition and as well as, other Wine Competitions in Texas.
He is the administrator of the Training Institute of America, a bi-lingual TABC Seller/Server school that also offers
courses in Food Safety and Customer Service. He has served on the Board of Directors of two non-profit fundraising
organizations, raising money for local Dallas charities. His educational background includes a Horticulture degree and a
BBA in Entrepreneurship from the University of North Texas.
He is looking forward to the exciting world of podcasting with We Know Texas Vino, with co-hosts Will Donohue and
Michel Woods.
